Guaranteed to be random.

I recall a story where someone wrote a bot for what I think was IRC. It it would do some dice programmed dice roll so folks could play D&D over IRC.

It was "pretty random".

But he got so many complaints about numbers coming up multiple times in a row....

He got tired of explaining that the same number coming up multiple times in a row is not necessarily 'not random'. But the complaints kept coming.

So he changed it to not duplicate a number in a row too often ...

His users were then much happier, even if it was now somewhat less random.

Before this code was found, no one could prove that it was not random, getting 4 everytime is also random. And, it won't break any code.
