So, now would be a bad time to say I use the blackest black theme on devRant.... good thing this isn't Twitter right 🌚

The whole point of dark mode is to be more inclusive, smh
  • 7
I use dark mode during the day and calling it night mode offends me.

This rant hurts my feelings how dare you
  • 8
Yup. Let's address that instead of actually caring about people dying because of racism.
  • 2
So we're at the point now where just using the word "dark" is racist?

    Smh

@ostream I identify as an attack helicopter and what you said is offensive
  • 4
At least we can all agree on the dark lord Satan.

    @HiFiWiFiSciFi *Night Lord Satan thankyou

This post not at all brought to you because i spent all day renaming branches due to a corporate policy change, and afterwards unbreaking CI pipelines

@ostream Yeah I do, could you stop meme shaming me?

Grats, you found one of the few applications of the word "dark", where it actually literally describes the thing it is used for.

The dark mode is for dark environments. But mainly it emits less light than bright mode.
I know some coders using dark mode color schmemes in their well illumineted office.
The linux shell also is traditionally dark mode themed.

So nothing to rename here. And be happy, that we don't call it "nigger mode" just to annoy the hell out of some socialist warrior whatevers...

Guys, OP is joking calm down

@olback we are at the point of not being racist is seen as being racist.

I swear some people enjoy finding hurt in the world despite it just crushing on by them.

But then again, I am a white male - I think, so what would I know 🤷‍♂️

@NoMad I have no problem defending those that are actually subjected to racism, but... shit I said but, ... erm, however, the noise makers that get but hurt because something is called "master" or uses the colour black and is considered racist out of context, it's those whom I couldn't give a shit over.

I believe we need to fix the problem, and in a world where race is subjected to stereotypes, that's no easy path, but I don't believe strapping a bandaid on society and giving them a smack on the hand is going to do much besides make it look like it's being dealt with.

Then again, I'm white, I'm male, and this is probably the most offensive thing someone is going to read today 🤷‍♂️

@C0D4 believe me, I agree. I think everyone here agrees. What (at least) I have problem with, is that they're putting a bandaid on a gun shot. Pretend to "something positive" when they are just trying to void themselves of any responsibility or effort.
("they" e.g. being those -git providers- that renamed "master" branch because racism)

@NoMad yea that pissed me off 1 it's got everyone knows what the master branch is and no one in the history of git has ever said ANYTHING about

it also it broke allot of the automation scripts I had
