While chatting with a colleague that just became a parent. He said he's uses Alexa for his smart home.

So I'm like hmm.. If you're always yelling Alexa... I wonder what the baby's first words will be...

And maybe that's the whole point... Conditioning the next generation to pick Amazon products as the default...

@asgs yes for me it just seems that can't understand my voice so I prolly look like an idiot going Alexa... Alexa... But not actually getting it to what I want it to.

The only time I found Alexa more practical than typing myself on my phone is, when I'm cooking.
Hands full (or dirty) and you need a timer or a "cup" to "gram" conversion from an American recipe.

Those smart home devices have always made me uncomfortable.

It feels weird to talk to some metal cylinder, and I can't help but wonder what my voice data is being used for

@Cyanide yes based on this I should buy more shares of Amazon... Already own a chunk of Google... But Amazon looks better now even at 90 P/E....
