I'd just prefer answers in vote order ignoring the checkmark tbh. It's useful to know the OP found a particular answer useful, but more often than not the highest upvoted answer is the one everyone else needs.
-
bagfox8724yThe checkmark is for the author to mark the most useful answer _for him_.
That everyone else goes by the upvotes should be self explanatory. -
Some selected answers become obsolete by the year... Should you alert the questioner to revote on same old question every year?
That would be wrong because at the time the question was answered... The answerer stands correct. -
@bagfox Disagree it's self-explanatory. If that were the case then the order for everyone else wouldn't start with the checked answer, but the most upvoted.
-
bagfox8724y@AlmondSauce I don’t see the point of having the highest scored answer being the first for everyone else.
How about this feature for StackOverflow:
If the questioner checkmarked an answer, but another answer gets 10 times more upvotes than the checkmarked answer, send a notification telling the questioner to re-consider the checkmark.
Wouldn't this bring peace and prosperity to devDom?
