I just published my first npm package, then accidentally spilt a cup of water on my MacBook.

It's all good though right? 😬

@Trejak it was a full cup of water. Probably not, the screen went black. I can't turn it on for at min 72 hours.

    Got Apple care?

Apple care doesn't cover liquid damage lol

@reduxtris that's painful to hear. Windows or Mac having your workstation/life destroyed backups or not is gut wrenching.

Same thing happened to me at a hackathon there was a fire drill and someone knocked my caramel latte over onto my air I was swabbing that stuff out for days took off all the key caps and all. Took it to Louis Rossman the next day since I was in New York said he couldn't do anything it would cost more to replace and clean rather than just getting used same model year one. That was last year and I'm still using the same air today. I even had a kernel error just let it sit for a couple days in a way that anything that needs to drain out does so.

@rrishi oh man that sucks! I'm glad to hear it's working though still, I hope I have the same luck! I guess I'm lucky it's just water I'm dealing with! Parts are really expensive! I was looking up the logic board for my laptop and it costs like 800$. eh, I guess on the bright side, and depending on what's fried, maybe this will be a good opportunity to upgrade the ram haha

From the water submersion tests i've watched on youtube, macbooks (seem to) fare very well. Obviously water is the best thing to spill if you had to spill something, i'm guessing it will turn out ok.

In some of the videos the macbooks no longer work without the power adapter though lol. 😂
