Requirements list or something? Uhh specsheet?
But answer to your first question, not all posts need to be rants but please do specify a non rant with
!rant
or something similar so we know it is not a rant -
@liammartens ah, alright.
I wouldn't say it's a specsheet... It would summarize the purpose of each part, and why it needs to be ordered. I am in a public highschool, and thus they are government funded. Being government funded, they have to be very anal on funding things, such as my team's robot. -
@croccifixiogo yea, currently I'm just calling it "BOM", was wondering if there is a more accurate term for it.
In this case, it's more than just a BOM; it "persuades" the school I need those components.
Might just leave it at BOM if I can't find a better term for it. -
@spongessuck kind of. Those are a little too formal for what I'm looking for though.

Do all posts on here have to be rants?
I'll rant about it if the answer is yes.
Is there a specific name for a spreadsheet/document that you give to someone (IE, school) who is financing the project you are working on, that explains in detail why all of those parts are needed? My school is requiring me to justify all of the parts they need to purchase for a robot I am building for a national competition (through the school).
I've never written a justification list/whatever it's called, and I'd imagine if I'd know the name, Google could help me with the rest. Unfortunately, Google couldn't help me figure out exactly what that type of document would be called.
