Because typescript is an impressive superset language, developed by some of the best minds in the industry that have numerous successful programming languages under their belt.

I agree with @SortOfTested. Perhaps it's because C and Java were my first languages so I get uncomfortable seeing untyped code. Any other TS fans out there?
