    So the Windows bootloader isn't installed on the hard drive any more?

    @garrettw nope..

    I can still boot if I plug in the USB but it is quite inconvenient

    @Duckman If you can boot into Windows Recovery Console you should be able to get the bootloader back... I forget the commands but Google can probably help with that

    @garrettw the exact error is unknown filesystem (random garbage/disk)
    It's in grub rescue I had it on main machine. but since I have permanent disk boot with fedora on it I just installed grub customer but since elementary OS is in USB I can't use same solution.. I have windows 7 btw
    Sorry for bad grammar or whatever but I'm too lazy to correct it since I'm on phone

    @Duckman if your motherboard uses UEFI instead of BIOS, you should be able to change boot partition from UEFI configuration

    @Kolyness sadly it's using BIOS

    Ok so you need to Google how to get into Windows Recovery Mode (this should be possible since you said you can boot into Windows with the USB inserted). Then you probably should use the "fixmbr" command along with "fixboot" if I recall correctly. Google tells all

    @garrettw l thank you

    I'll try this out tomorrow morning when I wake up

    You'll possibly need the windows local administrator password to log on to the window recovery console.

    Bootrec /fixmbr
    Bootrec /fixboot
    Bootrec /rebuildbcd

    @arcadesdude thanks for the actual commands 😉

    Update: some IDIOT removed the USB while windows was booting..

    Now it says I need windows installation disk to fix..

    The funny thing is that the laptop doesn't have a space for a cd

    I'm lucky the school year is over + that we use Google drive for everything we do

    Rip me amirite

    @all (does this work?) I went to the IT dude and he fixed it

    End of story

    @Duckman glad to hear it. And no, "@all" doesn't do anything.
