IMHO, self documenting code is easier to read, understand, and pass off to the next engineer. It can be a little verbose and explicit, but in the long run, it's worth it.
I often remind myself that I'm writing for humans, not machines. So I end up with long names, sometimes. -
@letanque Long names are lazy. Come up with something that both describes what it represents and doesn't take an entire line of code to write. This is detrimental to code because you need to either have code that goes off the side of your screen or is broke into multiple lines.
