Well if they didn't respond you would notice, considering most of the fortune 500 company's backend is created with Java.

What would be interesting to know, is the percentage of desktop devices running Java, which have been infected with that pesky toolbar Oracle is trying to con us into installing.

Just came across the 3 billion message myself when I installed a new JDK - it should also say "out of which 2.9 billion are running Android"
