filax928y@heyheni I'm in the process of learning :) Designing a simple weather app and try to focus on aesthetics and alignment. In the meantime I read an interesting series of blogposts and now that I follow some simple rules it gets better :)
I just want to be able to design beautiful (not artistic / perfect) UI and i think I could do it :)
here's the blog post series I found - maybe you have something to add?: https://medium.com/@erikdkennedy/... -
@filax damm good guide.
I have nothing significant to add exept some tools.

@filax what tools do you use? Do have a Mac?
Ah, one more...
When you beginn with a design project put some thought about whats needed by the user. Here is a good tool for doing so.

filax928y@heyheni Wow thanks for the list of tools/sites, I'll try them :)
I just use Gimp at the moment to try to get a feeling for it - and because I didn't want to invest any money for tools, as long i'm just learning and playing around instead of doing this professionally.
Yes I have a macbook. -
Awesome! I couldn't design anything with gimp, you have my respect!
My way of doing it is rough sketching on paper first and then a scribble on the computer with https://balsamiq.com
And then i'll finalise it on https://www.sketchapp.com
If i have to show it to the client I'll prototype it with principle for mac, orgami from facebook, inVision or framer js.
There is also good old axure which does everything, but it feels dated.
Good luck :)
I thought I could design a beautiful ui ... I have never been so wrong...
