Chrome vs Firefox ram usage. Chrome running 1 tab (moodle) and Firefox a blank startup tab. I was genuinely surprised to see Firefox using more than 50% more compared to chrome. Both browsers are 64 bit and chrome has perhaps 10 extensions while Firefox only 5

    @party101 Actually, there is 64bit Firefox Windows build. Linux file command for 64bit Firefox gives:

    PE32+ executable (GUI) x86-64, for MS Windows

    That's, clearly, 64bit app /cc @wahr

    Try having 30 tabs open simultaneously and then make your comparison. It's quite different... 😒

    I hate this argument of RAM usage. It doesn't matter. RAM is there to be used. Would you rather use the disk?

    Don't put blame solely on the browsers... It's the websites fault too.
