@Jase oh dear, I may be moving to Australia sometime next year... Was told the pay is good over there though!

@Jase My friend, you have just foretold the next few years of my life. The only reason I'm not breaking down with the thought of having to find money somewhere is 1. Living cheap is an easy skill 2. My girlfriend is a loving forgiving soul who is not dependent on anyone around her (AKA no unnecessary shit she asks or whatever) and 3. I pretty much live hoping another freelance job comes in.
Other than that, I spend way too much time enjoying life with outdoor adventures or digital experimentation to think too much about work continuously denying me...
The world is too full of over polite bastards thinking it is better not to respond to the eagerly waiting, hard working devs who waste their time way beyond the decision being made that he wouldn't be hired, rather than let the devs know what is happening. -
BoomeH21248y@Saborknight Or, you know, the world doesn't revolve around you and the amount of time needed for the company to notify all of the rejected applicants is too high. I always think "People aren't against you, they are just for themselves", it helps a lot 😉

@BoomeH as a great English teacher once said: "we are all the center of our own universes".
Mind you, you could look at it another way and say, if they don't have the courtesy to email you back, then why bother with them as they'll probably be that wasteland desert of hell some other rant was on about. Some companies do have the courtesy to bother, and those are often the ones who are nicer to work for anyway..
Our new hired (promoted intern) just installed Ubuntu on his new machine.
Now we are the only ones using Linux at work.
He was having trouble with a flickering bug on kernel 4.4.0 and I just told him to apt upgrade that it would solve it..
And he was like: oh.. Can you update the kernel?
That's gonna be a long month...hope he learns this faster than git
