Focus of mastering one language, don't jump around to every web langue out there.

Also don't follow the programming language band wagon. Focus and master the basics first HTML, CSS, Jquery. These aren't going anywhere and a SOLID understanding of JavaScript will go WAY further then you think

    I half agree with this. I agree that really knowing a language is a great thing, but it means crap if you don't develop overall programming skill.

    I trying to point out the fact that sadly a lot of new developers will briefly learn JavaScript then jump to node.js or angular, without a SOLID grasp of JavaScript

    @Nojil true. I just think too many young devs get tied up in learning languages rather than skill. I did that and suffered from every problem looks like a nail syndrome.

    Master jQuery? No, definately not needed these days and by using it you learn the bad habits.
