Thoughts on Manjaro? I'm thinking about switching from Ubuntu to Manjaro since I feel like I'm not much of a newbie to Linux as I used to be and Ubuntu consumes more resources than I expected (been using Ubuntu as my main OS for the last 4 months)

Manjaro feels more user-friendly than Ubuntu imo. Manjaro also gives you access to the AUR which is fantastic.

It’s my fav distro of Linux

I prefer arch, but if you want arch without the bs, Manjaro is fine.

I would say check out Mint; i prefer it in almost every way, except for some features that manjaro has over it like arch's repositories, but then again i could just be a simpleton because every step of Arch's package management and patch application makes me scream.

@SortOfTested I think that's exactly what I want, I wanna kinda leave the "linux beginner level" and move to a more intermediate level without much pain also I like how the xfce edition looks

Manjaro is pretty awesome tbh, most of it is pretty nice

Manjaro currently has a major controversy about donation fund handling, and a conflict of interest between the community project and the company.

Cannot recommend, since announcements given after since their treasurer left are vague and PR-bullshitty stuff, leaving me to wonder what path my favourite distro is going to go down soon.

I just use plain Arch, but any Arch-based distro would be great because it gives you access to the AUR. I've grown so reliant on having PKGBUILDs available for all sorts of weird and esoteric software that I'm not sure I could stand to use a distro without the AUR any more.

Manjaro is a powerful consumer-grade distro, but if you want to move past novice and into intermediate and advanced, then don't factor the default desktop environment a distro uses into your decision.

AUR is amazing. Manjaro is pretty much the most easy to setup version of Arch. And you still get all the benefits of Arch.
