Just wondering. Is an ASUS ROG worth it for programming and virtualization? Or there are better ones that are cheaper?

Asus x5**s are cheaper with the same specs

ROG user here for my primary. Dual booting Linux. Was a pain to get setup but I have no complaints that are worth mentioning now. C# on Windows 10, everything else gets done in Linux. Agree with above though, there are cheaper solutions.

Yeah msi workstation series is also there. And basically any laptop with 6700hq i7 will do .
