@SortOfTested not yet!! Hear me out, have him get the official title of senior dev or whatever the boss was. Then he can leave these are hard times, he needs them marks on that resumee
-
@SortOfTested @AleCx04 yeah as of right now I'm just a normal dev, so that Sr mark would be nice. To be fair, it's not incredibly stressful. My last job was a lot more stressful, it had me traveling a lot as a consultant and I found out I hated traveling. It's more in the "oh shit everything is on fire" category right now. I'm also in healthcare so it applies the "oh shit everything is on fire" feeling.

@pythonInRelay The programs broke today because he hadn't tested edge cases during a sftp file transfers, and those edge cases were actually hit. K8s won't fix bad programming.
-
@vomitmachine
Wait, he didn't grok ftp, but he was using k8s?! Some kind of wunderkind. -
@SortOfTested sorry, misunderstanding, we aren't using k8s. We actually usually tend to use an interface engine for most of our sftp transmissions and receives. However the engine is incredibly out of date and doesn't support the new ciphers for ssh, so we had to write two programs that use updated libraries in the meantime while we upgrade our interface engine. Which is going to take most of the year, because it hasn't received an update in 5 years. And holy shit, maybe I should actually be looking for a job...

donuts238485yDemand a raise to ur boss' level or even higher like the CEO's... Or you won't do anything?
-
@billgates with the pressure of the recently added work I need to vouch for a raise. His stuff was certainly shoveled onto me. The past month has been kinda harsh.
Boss left. Now I'm the only c# developer left to maintain 137 projects at this company. I woke up to a flood of emails with 3 requests and 2 applications breaking because he was a shitty programmer and didn't understand layering and design patterns and unit testing. Fucking dear God help.
