Imagine calling a programming language “cancer” because there are a few things you don’t like about it.

    At what point is it acceptable to regard something as cancerous?

    @SortOfTested start with j and ends with avascript

    @yellow-dog Or it starts with b and ends with eing too lazy or dumb (or both) to actually learn the damn thing properly and just complaining about how bad you think it is.

    Sounds like people who hate php lol

    @SparkyTD no it starts with y and ends with ou wouldnt think js is good if you properly learned any other language

    Just waiting for someone to post a link to or just outright invent an esoteric programming language called "cancer", so we could end these discussions.

    Everybody knows that Assembly is the way to go.
    Pff, people with their "variables" and typesafety and whatnot...

    Yeah, and it's really offensive to people suffering from real cancer (a.k.a. PHP).

    Found em lol

    @SortOfTested A malicious tumor ?

    I wouldn't call a language cancer unless it actively grows and creeps into every part of out current software infrastructure while constantly causes performance and memory issues and does this on such scale that almost every person in the world is affected by it by default.

    Then I might consider it cancerous by definition of essentially self-canibalizing every software that is written in it or uses it

    But if I got instead of few many things I dont like its okay?
    on an unrelated note, fuck python.

    Indeed. Talking shit about languages seems like something whiny bitches do. Then again, most devs are whiny pretentious bitches

    as a TI-BASIC dev i can definitively say: fuck TI-BASIC. On a 4-8MHz machine, every cycle counts, and the default (read: party-legal) TI-BASIC routines are fucking abysmal. They run at anywhere from 5/sec on 4MHz calcs to 7-8/sec on 8MHz calcs. There's also no arbitrary memory reads or writes, so I have to use Assembly for stuff by force. (Also the Assembly on these calcs is god-awful too: cross-compiling with TASM makes me wanna commit /dev/null. AND they made these 4-8MHz Z80 machines MULTI-THREADED so to do jack shit in Assembly you have to either fuck with the stack at runtime or only run 12 bytes of machine code at once.)

    also as a python dev i can say python can be fucking infuriating but i'm running out of chars. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED on Tkinter either. Fuck Tkinter entirely.
