I know CUT and COPY are related, but do they have to be put next to each other?

    They dont have to, they are set up that way by default. You can always change your key bindings.

    If you accidentally cut, just CTRL+Z. Works almost everywhere.

    Edit: also, even if you undo, you still have the cut content in the clipboard

    Sometimes i cut code accidentally without realising (dual monitor thing) and realize when it all crashes
