    Can you not just allow your team to use whatever ide they want?

    Also, I hope the poll you speak of is for your team to decide what IDE they wish to use, and not for devRant to decide.

    @delegate212 We have total freedom, my team members wanted to know what the community thinks

    @neo-73 Ah Fair.

    VS Code. Never been a fan of JetBrains ides. Their .NET tools are great tho, ReSharper, dotnetPeak and their memory profiling offerings.

    Does intellj have spring functionality? I thought it was just intellj ultimate that had functional support...

    Personally, I would go with VS Code. But I'm of the opinion that IDE is more of a personal choice. In my team we have the option to choose whichever IDE we like.

    vsCode, but my team can use anything they want, we just all use vsCode.

    @Jilano ๐Ÿ™only for very rare occasions, or I'm working with java... about the only good thing eclipse can do, when it decides to not crash.

    NOT the normal visual studio. That shit gives you cancer faster than smoking..

    It really depends on what you develop in, the support for that language and what you think is a good developer experience.

    Are you asking about intellij idea specifically or all jetbrains products?

    Personally I develop on an EC2 instance using intellij becuase at work I develop in scala. I do prefer vs code for a lot of its features but the experience is not fun in vs code. I use vim for quick text editing when going through the terminal.

    I also have a colleague who is perfectly happy with his vim setup.

    Spring is a Java framework right?
    If it is, then go with Intelij. The Java integration in Intelij vs VS Code is just better in my opinion.
