    Wtf... sometimes I wonder

The interesting question is: how did the gender mafia manage to get to power positons in SE? Was that a conscious decision by Spolsky & Co? Or was it neglect and undercover infiltration?

@Fast-Nop It's an online community. That's where they breed.
  • 2
@Fast-Nop The CEO is hell bent on pushing it through
  • 5
So, đŸ¤”interesting word right now ... so SO want people to identify them selves but at the same time don't?

I see the toxic community is still doing what it does best over there.

@AlgoRythm that doesn't compute, given that the mods who actually run the site day-to-day are leaving in droves.

@12bitfloat That new Indian guy? There was nearly nothing from him to hear. However, at least the timing boils out: He became CEO 0n 24 Sep, and the gender FAQ was posted on 10 Oct. If you're right, that would be one of his first measures so that he'd qualify for "get woke, go broke" to the extreme.

@monzrmango Yeah sure the Silligone Valley, BUT: SE's HQ is in NYC!

@Fast-Nop The CEO apparently wants to get another round of funding next year. This entire year has been filled with shit like this.
There was a huge debacle about animated ads too.

    My pronouns are:

lord, god, savior, and "enlightened one"

I didn't understand. Are you saying moderators are leaving stack overflow? Isn't this site auto moderated by everyone that uses it, based on their points?
  • 1
@TitanLannister you cant make it only with points. Points giveonly a lead.

Acquisition incoming but is Microsoft still interested ?
  • 2
@vane Ahhh THAT move. Remember how that Ehmke wacko vamped up Github before the MS buy-out, with anti-male sexism and anti-white racism? Started out with a similar "CoC" as trojan horse. Besides abolishing home office and introducing corporate style line managers and shit of course.

Then it makes sense to get rid of volunteers in important positions because that's not corporate, given how little control SE has over them from a disciplinary manager's viewpoint.

so the mods are trash mods, nothing new there...

    who's the final boss?
  • 3
This is when I'm thankful that my first language doesn't differentiate the third person pronouns by gender, because there is just one pronoun for everyone. Less political correctness related topics to argue about.
  • 2
@Lasoloz As if having no reason to argue has ever stopped anyone from arguing :p
  • 2
    @alexbrooklyn Yeah, that's true unfortunately.
Interestingly these social justice warriors seem more like some mythological creatures for me, than real existing people. I mean I've never seen one really SJW person in real life. Possibly they are louder on the internet than in real life, but I might be wrong on this one.

@Fast-Nop i know I'm a bit late to the game, but this is just another example of greed under the guise of caring about a community. The moment the stakeholders and investors say "we want there to be less policing of language and more judging on content", it will go right back. Unfortunately, right now this is the prevailing paradigm; that people's tears should be protected more than their vaginas (see that rant about how "be nice" was an all-inclusive stance, but now that they've taken sides on this issue, they've effectively dropped their stance on all other issues, like online sexual harassment).
