Hello fellow ranters!

So I just switched companies ( free from hell...rants if wanted) and now I'm facing a ton of new things I never worked with. Honestly I'm a little bit scared and thus I want to prepare a bit for the new stuff ahead of me. ( I'm a junior developer with only 4 years professional experience )

What are good resources to get some knowledge in the following topics, so I wont look stupid on my first day at the new company?

Docker
Microservice
DevOps ( CI/CD, Kubernetes )

I know some basic stuff to describe what these words mean but no work experience at all for these. My old work was purely monolithic Java EE 😅

Resources should be in English or German.

Thanks for every help!! 🙇🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♂️

    Ooooh my favourites ♥️

    Are you going to setup devops/docker etc.? Or do you just have to know the basics of working with them?

    Docker is the most amazing thing ever

    @alexbrooklyn

    So in the new company everbody does the coding and the devops.

    Which means I will be responsible to manage Kubernetes,Jenkins etc. to perform the automated build chain/pipeline stuff when I push my stuff.
    I guess there will also be multiple layers with test and productive environments or some abbreviation of it.

    I'm excited for that stuff but I'm also scared because that's a lot of new stuff I need to learn.

    For Docker I just started yesterday with DevOps with Docker by Jami Kousa from the Helsinki University, it looks good so far and it's free, might want to check it out.

    I like its simplicity and the fact that it's text-based, since I'm not someone who follows along videos easily.

    @Sputnik Thank you a lot! That sounds like excactly what I need. Videos are also not the ideal type for me. I will definitely check it out.
