@dmonkey It came about after talking to a coworker who created a fake ap that said "Virus System". He talked to a couple of neighbors outside his house. Apparently they the neighbors were discussing how they felt like they needed to call the cops about the AP. He didn't tell them it was his AP. He is thinking of creating another AP called "AntiVirus System". Then he was going to tell the neighbors, "Don't worry, I created a system to fight the Virus System".

I am having fun building a captured wifi portal. It shows up as "Virus Distribution Point" as an open AP. If you connect to the AP it brings up a page that looks like the picture.
It does nothing except show the page. The page will eventually do some limited javascript animation to make it look like it is doing something.
Right now it is an embedded webpage. Strings in a source file. Eventually I would like to turn this into a product of sorts that would make it easy for someone to use for advertising/pranks. So I expect I will need to create some sort of simple toolset for updating the pages and changing the SSID and the passcode (if any).
