dates are just an index of time

practicing is just offsetting your initial, natural ability in a positive direction

do you guys ever just think of things in an abstract sense?

what are other examples?

"God" (in the monotheistic sense) is the lowest level of abstraction of the Universe

Time is a unit of measurement to give meaning to our pointless life's in the grand cosmics.

Literally, everyone is a piece of shit.

(We're all comprised of carbon and nitrogen atoms that we're at one point part of some animal's feces.)

@HisAxelency not necessarily. There's also carbon and nitrogen coming from space

@simonblack the amount of space carbon will be only a very small fraction though. And eventually, they all go through the same cycle.

So that makes us alien pieces of shit.

Time is just there to make sure not everything is happening at once.

Not sure who said that.. Einstein?

But yeah, thinking of things in abstract ways all the time.
I like to think of time as a train that has its start and destination.

Although it didn’t arrive yet, it’s destination is defined. However it’s not defined what’s gonna happen during the journey.
You know what’s behind you because you already saw it but if you learn about the area you can predict what will be in front of you.

Not, actually. A date itself does not index a time. A tuple of a date and a earth location does. :P

That's because working with dates is always harder than it looks.

@sudocode ...unless you speak by phone. Then, in average, language is faster than speed of sound.

Looking in the mirror, you are just seeing yourself stretched along one axis by -1

@Lensflare looking in the mirror you just see your past self, never actual self, because of delay.

@DeepHotel that's very simplified but it could be more still.

All human interactions are conscious or subconscious.
