Have you ever been interrupted because a marketing workmate had a friend on the phone who needed advice on a WordPress hosting, and wanted your advice right now?

Because I have.

When we had a massive server failure and our production environment was down.

    @Kyngo ugh what an idiot. Some people.. Hopefully HR sees that you were just doing your job and it's really their own fault if they get offended.

    @Elyz they did ignore the complaint because they understood that my task was a really critical thing, so... Yeah, I got off that one.

    But geez, that made me feel really bad at that moment.

    @Kyngo yeah I understand. That was just rude of your coworker to first of all expect you to spend time on non-work things but also get mad that there are more pressing matters and file a complaint.

    I would have put a complaint in to HR, asking you to break off from critical work related work to help a friend with non work related work. Why should the bastard not be reported as he has no problem throwing you under the bus.
