Anyone in the company is disposable except for the founder with the vision ... do not think you are needed by the company ... cuz your not that’s just how it goes

mundo0349795yI read about an indian company fireing all their devs because they generated no revenue, it was the CEO's call.
Fun. -
It's *devs* that cause the under-evaluation in my experience. There's a mass culture of working for free (OSS). Only other group I can think of like that is artists---and look how poor they are---on average.
Companies will pay peanuts as long as there are monkeys signing up to eat then.

@platypus OSS is not there only for a dev to do free work. Except if your licensing with no copyleft rights. In that case, you deserve that.

kalippu5185y@platypus All the devs i know personally, who contribute to good foss repos are paid much above market average. foss is something we should be proud of, something many other industries cannot boast of.

Yes. If it's paid then different story, of course. Clearly I'm not again FOSS. Think Steve Balmer was the last person who was.

I fucking hate non-technical founders looking down on the tech team as if it we're dispensable, and as a result, undervalue us in terms of money and equity.
