I like to think it was made by devs who were forced to use the original Visual Studio and threatened to quit if they had to spend 1 more second using that piece of shit

Microsoft is one of largest contributor to open-source community. ( i think it's on top of this list)

Yeah I have noticed that Microsoft has started doing a lot of OSS. It's just that usually when that's the case, people are also quick to point out that it's made by Microsoft. Haven't seen a single person mention it with TS
