    To be fair, Apple is known to be very overpriced. So they can probably fit in the same SSD in a cheaper model and still make a profit (assuming the processor, ram, ... are lower end).

    Friend of mine spend €2500 on a desktop Mac with no SSD, 8GB RAM, an i5 and a 21" screen.

    She uses it for design work but Christ my HP ultrabook costs about the same for a 512GB NVMe, 32GB RAM and an i7 (U though).
