b3b343775yI wouldn't want one. Can it make me coffee? No. Can it drive me to the trainstation? No. Can it make me orgasm? Probably not. So what is it good for other than datamining?
I mean, sure it will have some usecases but I can't think of one thats of use for me. -
@b3b3 technically there are products which claim to improve mood or improve focus, etc. I don't know anything of their effectiveness, but I have to assume it's not great. But the orgasm point isn't completely out of the question :D
But nah really. I would kind of want one, but only from a company I trust, open source, I would probably audit any writes or network connections from the software, etc.
It would have to be damn good to be worth that effort, but yea I would want one eventually. -
@b3b3 You would actually be able to "tell" your IoT-coffee-machine to make you coffee and order your uber etc. .
@deadPix3l Wasn't thinking about an open source option. Good point -
b3b343775y@BoomRaccoon yeah nice joke. Why the heck would I buy a internet of shit - coffee maschine? Until right now I just heat my water and put it in my coffee filter and done. And its as fast as a normal coffer maschine

@b3b3 Oh fuq. You just brought up an idea.
What about a personal 🤖, you can control over a brain-machine-interface? No outgoing connection because all the resources you need could be inside of the 🤖.
And you could keep your good old fashioned coffee machine.
Was reading the voice command rant and got curious, what do you guys think about the brain-machine-interface? Will it ever happen?
I would love it but also have some fears. Being able to control devices just by thought would be a huge time saver. But data mining is getting out of hand and that is scaring me. Companies would be able to analyze a lot.
Now they 'just' know what I am buying and which sites I am visiting.
If they know what I am thinking, Amazon would suggest me rubber gloves, body bags and whisky.
