Are you also feeling this way dude to unbearable management who won’t listen to anyone technical?
-
You’ve been doing it for 25 years. Don’t you think it’s natural for you to feel this way?
-
myss45285yDid you maybe found something else that motivates / want to do, so you're feeling this way now?
-
We've all been there. Sometimes you just need to play video games for a while. Take a break.
-
Either start making something completely different (games for example) or get a new hobby.

I think there was an 8-9-month period where I didn't code at all outside of work. I had some half-finished projects but couldn't motivate myself to do anything with them. Just a few weeks ago, I had an idea, fired up my IDE, and started coding again like I'd never stopped. It happens sometimes.

I can relate.
Sitting in a chair waiting to die kills people's mood.
Go take a hike (literally), and ask what people, interactions, or series of events happened *before* you felt this way. No, not what 'caused' it, only what happened prior. Often when we look for a cause it's like looking for your car keys when they've gone missing and they're obviously right in front of you. So instead just go for a walk, decompress, and look at the series of events that lead to you feeling this way.
Document them all. One event per line on a sheet. Keep going for 5 minutes or until you run out of things.
Then try and keep going for say another five minutes.
You'll be surprised what comes to you when you feel like you've run out of things and just don't know any more.
I’ve been coding for over 25 years, for the last 10 years my primary languages are C#, C++, Xaml. Prior to that I used to develop web applications.
Just recently, I’ve totally lost my motivation to code, I used to come home at nights and do stuff for myself, at work i used to develop utilities and apis to help everyone, some of which have been made production ready and released.
Now I just cannot be arsed......
I need to get out of this rut.
☹️😢
