Welcome to devRant! Nice start! Linux REEEEE! Widows REEEEE! Technology REEEEE!

Used to think the same, but once you get it running, it seems to stay that way even over upgrades, which isn't something I can say about Windows...

Well Linux is like a gf that's hard to get. But once you do.... There is no going back

@Floydian It is. No doubt about that...

Well... It works perfectly for me so don't go around blaming all of your problems on Linux when all those problems is obviously your own fault

I tried several times during multiple years. Now I've finally landed, and I'm never going back. Though to be fair my first attempts were ruined by a shitty laptop from school

@Floydian multiple reasons on the kernel level. Too lazy to list right now.

On the GUI level, I would not recommend Gnome over Windows but KDE does a fabulous job. The entire KDE suite is amazing.
    Dolphin >> Windows file explorer
    Konsole >> Windows PS
Ark >> whatever equivalent Windows has
    and so on...

Plus KDE is a lot more customizable than Windows.
Also the "Keep Above" and "Keep Below" features in Kde are something Windows sucks at.

I personally use Manjaro KDE but all KDE distros do a fabulous job (except Kubuntu becoz the version of KDE shipped with Kubuntu is old and buggy and they can't upgrade it for some compatibility issues)

Sounds like a Layer 8 issue to me.

@Stuxnet It is his fault though. Linux is perfect. Im not even joking.

@HampusMa not always, but I'm not dealing with this shit at 3 am lmao

    @Floydian
    Ms Office : yes.
GDrive Sync : KDE Dolphin has an option to connect to G Drive. Not exactly like sync but comes close

@Floydian I use office with wine. No issues so far (though I am much of a GSuite guy. So if there were some issues I would probably not know)

The problem with dolphin GDrive is that sometimes it refuses to open files if u are offline. Ideally it should update to the latest edition in drive as soon as u are connected. But doesn't happen many times. You have to manually update all the files. Also you can't just sync any folder. You have to set it up first which is a pain in the a**.
If you use GDrive sync heavily then probably it's not 4 u.
(I don't know about how Drive Offline works. But I have heard it's pretty good)

@Haxk20 "they will fix it for you"... Yeah sure, it happens only when a bug is so widespread that actually it will get into the way of a developer trying to do the same thing and he fixes the problem for himself then share the solution, do a PR and fix the problem once for all.

I still have a problem with the WiFi driver of my laptop with linux that prevents me using wifi at more than 6mt from the router. 2 years have passed, nobody fixed the issue.

@Haxk20 I'd be more than welcome to do that, but atm, after 2 years, I resorted to manjaro KDE with ethernet plugged and windows in dual boot. Whenever I'm outside I use windows and the problem is fixed. If only anyone would have called me somewhere like 1 month after i posted the issue...
