Truth be told, JavaScript development X iOS and Android development

What does that X stand for?

    Deprecated... rejected @dmonkey

    Yeah, no.
    React Native is thriving.

@PrivateGER still web, nodejs right... JavaScript
  • 1
React Native has absolutely nothing to do with Node.

@PrivateGER wouldn't having node installed as a requirement, having a node_modules folder, starting the app through node and creating a projecr with npm quality as having something to do with node?

I don't get if op is dissing or praising React Native

No. Performance wise, JS is just not there. Access to phone native APIs, JS is not all the way there yet. So... no.

Sure no one will naively develop a simple list view app for their business anymore (or maybe they will) but there still lots of use cases for native development that one cannot simply discard.

@Kyouma like gyroscope...lol, Js got major native APIs covered, just finished on geolocation and wifi

@devJoe Don't get me wrong. I know it is great and has a great community and everything. I am just saying that it is not a total substitute for native development. Not totally.

@Kyouma definitely there are more than 50 shades of black

Java what? It is an offense to mention Javascript next to Android or iOS.
