    Boss heard my rant from his office, and gave me Excel 2019. Hope that solves these issues..

    I don't know what you are talking about. I have multiple excel instances open with different spreadsheets. What OS and Office version are you using?
  • 1
    @iAmNaN Was on Excel 2007, installing 2019 now.
  • 2
    I think it's a microsoft thing to compel users to get multiple computers, so you can KVM between them with different spreadsheets haha
  • 3
    @Phlisg I think 2010 forward enabled multiple open sheets. 2007 is pretty old. Don't tell me you are still on XP... ๐Ÿ˜

    @iAmNaN Haha no. 2019 is installed, time for new rants about this version. It has a smoothing *feature* so when I move the window around, it goes smoothly to where I want it instead of exactly where my mouse is. OMG.

    @fire-phoenix tbh I think that's graphics overhead and not an intended feature.

    @iAmNaN

    Win10, Excel 2016 - still one window per spreadsheet :D

    As someone noted, you may have a resource constraint. I have Win 10 Enterprise and Office 2016, and no limit on the number of excel docs I can have open.
  • 1
    @Lor-inc Apparently it is due to the poll rate of my gaming mouse.
  • 1
    @fire-phoenix but that should affect the cursor too, shouldn't it?
  • 2
    @fire-phoenix That gaming mouse of yours is just a cheap toy for playing games with. Sounds like you need to upgrade to a real office mouse for real productivity!

    you can open excel multiple times. press ctrl and click on the icon. or in the taskbar click on the icon with the mouse wheel to open a new instance.

    Ha. Now try hitting these issues when going via the COM automation interface. That’s a whole barrel of laughs.

    i have excel 2016, and can have multiple files and different windows for each tab...

    have you tried the "New Window" button on View menu?
  • 1
    Can confirm, all of these are false. At least in recent versions of Excel.
  • 2
    You have to modify the REGEDIT to allow showing multiple excel st the same time, at least for 2010 back then

    @iAmNaN

    OMG

    it works :O

    WELL DONE MICROSOFT **soft pat on Microsoft's shoulder**
