Minecraft is a truly amazing game. There isn't any other game in which mods are able to interact in such a beautiful fashion. Not to mention that the simple fact shaders are possible is mindblowing
-
Tbh the reason I started programming was to make Minecraft mod. I should probably go back to my roots
-
Root825086yI was a game dev for 12 years and wrote my own graphics engine in highschool. Graphics are definitely enjoyable to write. They're also hell.
I miss it some days. -
wow it looks pretty decent
@fuck2code I feel the same way, but it's like there are millions of mods already so I feel a bit late to the party... -
@irene back in the 1.7 days shaders were surprisingly light on the GPU. I could runt seus on Minecraft on a 660m with an Intel Pentium.
-
@jesustricks tbh i'm thinking of making some tweaks for tinkers construct. Seems like a good place to start
-
@irene not at all, I mean the fan is going crazy, but definitely no noticeable lags or anything...
I also have an i7-7700HQ CPU -
I had zero interest in Minecraft until you showed me this. That’s freaking amazing! I cut my teeth on Wolfenstein 3D and Persistence of Vision Raytracer in the early 90s. If my then-self had seen this, I would have lost my then-mind.
Just tried out Minecraft's shader mod SEUS and wondering what the fuck am I doing with my life being a web dev and not working on graphics.
If you have an nvidia gpu, please give it a try.
This is an example with PBR textures, it's mind blowing https://youtu.be/RbM5w9CBDIw
