So I found out few days ago that I’m pregnant. All’s well, except this guy who sits behind me in the office and keeps going out for a smoke every hour and returns smelling strongly like cigarettes. The smell fades after a while and he goes out again. Repeat.

    Congratulations! As an asthma patient, I share your hate for the smell of smoke (and smoke in general)

    Is it the first one?

    @Linux yes
    Thanks :)

    Also, as long as the direct smoke can't reach you, you should be fine, but that's probably something you want to talk to a doc about. Good luck!

    Oh hi, got lost there for a moment.

    Can you request another desk if you want to move somewhere else?

    @C0D4 yeah that seems like a pretty reasonable thing to ask the boss in this situation

    Congratulations

    Tell him he reaks of cigarettes. As an ex-smoker, I know it is one of the very few things smokers don't like about their habit... Other people telling them they stink. Maybe he quits

    Also, as an ex-smoker who smoked 30 cigarettes per day for 17 years, it's not hard to quit. I woke up one day and realised it's no longer fun to smoke, so I stopped. Anyone who says they can't are lying

    When my fourth was born, the company I worked for then let me work full remote. I'm not sure if that would work for you, but work can still get done while on bed rest if that happens also. I had surgery on my back and a hernia repair in the same surgery and I still worked while trying to lay in bed.
