Lisp is such a cool language, and I feel like because functional programming is becoming so popular, Lisp could end up the go-to language because it's so versatile and, though there are many parens, it's friendlier at first glance than Haskell. (And there are so many libraries for it, omg)

    I disagree. Lisp was ahead of its time (did you know there was a Lisp for the Commodore 64? It blew Basic out of the water) - but is overrated by today's standards. Still somewhat fun to use, but parentheses labyrinths aren't state of the art any more.

    @VaderNT I did not know that about the commodore. I'll wikipedia that later. I mean in terms of functional languages it's very useful and simple, and I believe because it's more than just a functional language it has an avenue to make a comeback. That's my thought process.

    I think lisp is a good scripting language. The only thing missing is a good type system.
