    @C0D4 i would go with var char. more a soft v. mixture of w and f.

    @natinaum i say it with the v but as if it was an f. Sounds a bit like far.

    @C0D4 thats what I thougt. And It's somehow weird. I would be maybe irritated if someone i talk would pronounce it like this :)

    @rutee07 Okay, I just pronounced it always like i would if it would be a singel word. Without the context of the word charakter.

    But with the the context of your mother tongue given, it's understandable.

    It's a /kĘ°/ sound because it stands for "character". Just like GIF is pronounced with a hard 'g' because it stands for _Graphics_ Interchange Format.
