Mine was not CS but software engineering. I had been programming for 5 years, and I think anything before my degree was just so bad. No patterns or anything. It was really good in the way that I learned how to do things well, not exactly learning about the technologies. I also have an internship that I must do for at least 3 months before getting the degree which also helps.

    Finally. Agreed. There's a massive difference between coders and software engineers. College is a giant boost in fundamental understanding and skill that, while you can get in the workplace, you can't compare to deep study.

    @Techno-Wizard worse, I still feel like I should keep my studies because I hate not understanding some parts / concepts ! And I'm not a big fan of classes
