Whatever they're paying you, they're making an investment in you. That means they believe in you. Keep that in mind, and work hard. -
Its quite usual to ask for a raise or at least renegotiatings after 6 months cause I must assume my employer low balled me on entry exactly for that reason

You may be earning lower than the market rate for someone of your knowledge and experience, but one thing is going to keep you at a low rate more than anything else, until you leave the company: you agreed to it. You sent a message to the company that you'll do the work for cheap, so they have very little, if any, incentive to, "correct" your compensation. They might do, but it's highly unlikely. The most likely scenario is that if you're still in the same position in five years, you'll be making thirty percent below market, instead of forty.
