HogDev12546y@RantSomeWhere awesome setup, I've started using proton, duck duck go and signal. And as for the rest, I have to check em out :)

@RantSomeWhere I don't use gitlab hosted by gitlab anymore because they moved to google cloud.
Except for that, I block out entire ip ranges of a few big companies as well but other than that, that list applies to me as well 😊
Thanks for mentioning me and thanks for your kind words 😊 -
Linux438106yAs for me:
- Pihole
- Linux (Trisquel)
- Searx (https://searx.linux.pizza)
- OpenStreetMaps
- Youtube in some cases, but more and more Peertube
- Email is selfhosted since 2014
- Calendar - selfhosted
- Contact - selfhosted
- ABrowser
- Matrix - keybase and signal is not an alternative because they are closed on the serverside.

HogDev12546y@Linux Nice, selfhosting is a good option, though it can get complicated realy fast. But a valid option.
-
@Linux It wasn't solely about self hosted ones :)
I do agree that the backend being closed isn't a good thing but seeing the trouble I've had with the matrix app + encryption, I don't think many people I know would be remotely willing to switch.

Question, how would you build the ultimate "I don't want to be dependent on Google or Facebooks services" setup?
IE, not using Gmail for e-mail, not using Google maps for, well, maps. Etc.
Im realy curious to see how the ultimate open source/not dependent on any big corporation harvesting userdata, ecosystem would look like. :)
