stop68676y@asgs its an plant that eats insects, theyre living in ecosystems with enough water, but poor soil. They get their nutrion through insects that land on them. The brown mixture looks like an sand mixture. The entire species has usually an short lifespan.

It's called a Venus Flytrap and they live in a mixture of moss and more moss. I've care for them since I was 8 or so and I have had plants that lived for very long. But they require a lot of attention. As soon as I get busy they die.
And they do not require bugs to survive, it only supplements their diet. I find they actually grow much healthier with fewer bugs. -
@ceee They're quite certainly like a pet! The only difference is they don't move much. But since they're plants, they grow and change shape much more rapidly, which I think makes up for it! They don't produce waste, and instead produce oxygen. I love these things.

Brolls31556yI’ve had this bad boy going since October. Apparently it’s already 7 years old 🤷♂️
It either grows like mad when you’re not looking, or is on the verge of death if you forget to water it for a few days 😂
New friend :3 gonna buy a little indoor growing lamp kit and put it on my desk.
