Is it possible on devRant to block users so their rants don't show up in the feed? There are some attention whores around who's content I'd prefer not to be forced to read.

    No way to block afaik, but you're definitely not being forced to read anything 🙄

    It's true, I can stop reading devRant all together any time, but I would prefer not to. I enjoy it quite a lot when having some idle time. However I've noticed some low quality/overall negative content coming from a few usual suspects, would be nice to be able to put them on a shitlist.

    Report profile is the nearest we have. But until there are more such reports from other users, it is pretty much futile

    Not sure about reporting. After all, I don't want my subjective judgment to be forced on all the other users.

    Oh there might be some tampermonkey scripts that let you do this. @Root ?
    Edit: seems I misremembered who I've seen talking about tampermonkey. Sorry Root.
    just search devRant for tampermonkey :p

    If Im on it feel free to tell me. But I doubt anyone who is willing to hear criticism is the problem.

    I second the request for blocking users.

    @Codex404 I read it and immediately started wondering if I had managed to piss someone off 🤔 curiosity is one helluva drug. I'd hope people would tell me if they had a problem with me, too.

    @Jilano agreed. I'd say the only thing that I find downright annoying is when three separate people post the same dumb "meme" they found on /r/programmerhumor within 24 hours. Like come on guys, if you've seen it there's a high chance someone else also saw it and has already polluted devrant with it. Doesn't take much effort to check the joke/meme tag if it's already been posted recently.

    @Jilano I will never understand the mentality behind farming internet points like that. They aren't worth anything? Well I mean on devrant you could get stickers by shit posting I suppose but why would you want devrant stickers if you're not part of the community? It's so weird to me. Like/upvote/validation whores go back to reddit 🙄

    @Jilano society is sick. I'm sad it found its way to devrant. You'd think we'd be safe here 😂

    You may block some, but that doesn't stop the rest. Instead find a way to bypass it.

    @Elyz wholeheartedly agree, i tried creating a site that mitigated that problem, but I guess it just ended up being just another part of the cemetery or social sites...

    We need this. There's a couple people whose opinions I can't stand. And. Tired of them.

    @Elyz were not safe anywhere.

    @Elyz I only liked your post because your absolutely right. Not to give you a sticker ;)
