Windows is crap! Linux is better but does not support many important programs. And I think, a good system should be usable just fine without using the Terminal.

So would it be possible to create a 4th big system architecture (Open-Source), which supports Windows Apps & Games without being shitty and without harming their laws?

Just out of curiosity- isn't it better to have a system where you don't need to use gui then a one where you don't need to use cli?

Try writing a game for two of those systems and come back when you realise that everything is fucked beyond repair.

There is no way to merge those two piecies of shit together...

linux-distros support the exe format, but the libs provided by MS are shipped/rebuild with wine

@hubiruchi "Better" depends 🤔 I personally love beautiful UI, for example a customized Android Homescreen is great. There's a lot of potential in the Desktop-PC world i think.

@CaffeineNAnger I'm a heavy Photoshop user and I love to play games and yes, I've tried running Linux but especially Gaming isn't really possible even with Proton/VM

@DeWil It isn't for you then I guess. Use the tool you like most

@DeWil of course there is a potential, what I mean is that you could probably create a gui on cli but not the other way around

@iKameo Okay I could have stated that one further but this was rather a question about whether a 4th architecture would be realistic instead of ranting about the current systems.

@Charon92 I think being Open Source would be the main advantage

@CaffeineNAnger Hm but Windows and MacOS are following the same principle I think, at least they're trying to 🤔

But you're probably right, that's a bad philosophy.
