@cursee if you ever want some pentesting... dont let me know either bc i really enjoy the challenge too much and it generally is not good for others. lol (please dont be worried i only pentest legally... with permission, for the people who are wanting to say im a hacker)

@ryangurn I don't think you'd find any of those people here (there's more white hats / gray hats here, you'll find out).

Beside that, welcome to DR. Where you don't get the police called on you because you code in a hospital cafeteria.

@ilPinguino Thats amazing to hear, im excited to be part of a much larger whitehat community... on another note why do people call the cops for people coding its really quite crazy. Almost like calling the cops on someone speaking another language that is not understood

@ryangurn human usually tend to be afraid of the "unknown"
  • 3
@ryangurn I suppose in some parts of the world, this may happen depending on the language.

But yes, apparently, RubyMine with the Darkula Theme looks like a "hacker tool" to a cafeteria service person.

They do it because it looks like the "hacker tools" on CSI/Navy CIS/Criminal Minds/Whatever else crap on corporate television there is.

What we'd need is a TV show on REAL hacking - you know, like the BBC did on fraud (The Real Hustle). But that'll never happen, people are just too scared. Guess it's easier to have them believe bullcrap instead.

@cursee yeah but that does not change the fact that these companies take the unknown and make it known accidentally by performing security theater.

@ilPinguino yeah and people cannot separate screens from reality anymore... thanks internet.
