@ScriptCoded because it's useful to get reminded to fill your diary if you forget something like a diary easily but want to / have to do it.

@ScriptCoded Journaling can be hard for beginners, people might forget to log in what did on a regular basis. Hence the notifications. They are configured in such a way that you don't get notified if you are Journaling regularly. 24 hours gap and you'll have lost some valuable moment in your life.

@karma Not with the exact name. I tend to log everything in the 'Events' or 'Journal'

Would complain if I wanted such an app in the first place. And that comment is generally positive.

pauliunas56yhe's got a point. He's getting some bullshit notifications every day. That's annoying.

@pauliunas All you gave to do is flip a switch if you don't want notifications

pauliunas56y@agiletelescope well, there's a reason people hire UI designers. Developers often think that an action is super easy to achieve, but a less experienced user might not know how to do it. For example, you might think a small gear icon at the top right corner is pretty obvious, but an inexperienced user might never even notice it or know what to look for. If you want to get an objective review for your UI, give your app to your grandma and she'll tell you how hard to use everything in there is. The worst part is that it's all true. It's incredibly hard to make a UI that works for inexperienced people. So it's best to expose such options in a "wizard" on first start or something like that, because the average user is not like your or like me. They don't know that option exists and they won't go exploring - they'll instead write a bad review.

@pauliunas It's true that we developers take some things for granted or give don't think much about UI implementations.

What is wrong with people. I put in hours of my time every day and it hurts to see some annonymous person complaining shit about something that doesn't even exist.
