WHY THE FUCK! WHY THE FUCKING FUCK! DO I HAVE TO WAIT 3 FUCKING DAYS TO GET A FUCKING VIDEO RENDERED! i didnt buy a new fucking 2080TI for this! WHY THE FUCK DOES THE CPU RENDER THE FUCKING VIDEO!
I mean, we can do fucking REAL TIME RAY-TRACING! And yet, no fucking idiot came to the Idea, "hmm we could let the GPU its intended purpose and dont use the CPU that much." I MEAN, IT HAPPENED, BUT FUCK IT! FUCK ALL OF THIS! FUCKING 74 HOURS!! FOR AN HOUR CLIP!
(Its 4K tho)
Fuck.

    @irene Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019

    It uses it for the Pre-Render, thats why Threadripper processors are so well made for rendering video...

    @Mizz141 afaik you gotta use a codec that is made for gpu acceleration. But i d9nt know which one that would be rn. But adobe should have it :)

    I'm using Premiere CC 2019 with a GTX 970. Not sure if it still like this, but I'm pretty sure that only Media Encoder gives you hardware acceleration while rendering - so you shouldn't use Premiere to render.
    In Media Encoder just select CUDA and start rendering with your GPU :)

    How? Where? What?

    Adobe has a separate software for rendering, it's called Adobe Media Encoder CC, should come with your Creative Cloud subscription

    @jonmi I tried usinf the Mercury Playback Engine - GPU Accelerated (CUDA) and it still gives me the same result, then I tried the Software encoding and GPU Graph jumped around like crazy... I still dont know which one is faster tho...

    @Mizz141 that's strange. Maybe you are using effects that don't support GPU rendering?
    Because all of my 4k videos are rendering fine and with GPU support.

    @jonmi No effects... pure 4k footage

    @Mizz141 Which codec are you using and which CPU do you have?
  • 0
    @jonmi h.265 HVEC and cpu is an I7 8700K
  • 3
    @Mizz141 Pretty sure that's the problem. H.265 takes ages to render because of the high compression. Use H.264 with high bitrate (at least 80 Mbps) and it will be fine.

    @jonmi Wow! that actually helped really well! Thanks!

    I had the same problem though not rendering 4K... So sorry interested how it goes. Tell me which one works, can't try now.

    @Mizz141 no problem :)

    @billgates h.264 is a lot better than h.265!

    @Mizz141 what about CUDA? I tried after effects not premiere but switched to CUDA mode didn't help much.

    Was trying the Stabilize effect.

    @billgates The CUDA renderer now kicks in and render times are now down to only just an hour...

    Aand the problem was on layer 8

    you really dont want to use GPU encoding when you care about quality, there is only a certain length than one can paralize the whole process

    Just config it :D
