I've just read the updated App Review Guidelines.
https://developer.apple.com/news/
Found this bit interesting:
"4.1(c): This new guideline specifies that you cannot use another developer’s icon, brand, or product name in your app’s icon or name, without approval from the developer."
...it's terrible that this even has to be written down as a rule. Unfortunately, it's !just Apple that has problems w/ copycats.

Speaking of other platforms - found this 'suggestion' on Google Play for 'Sprint Elf'.

    ...seems legit.

A lot of things are covered by trademark laws but them including this makes it easier to remove crap that is in violation without a whole potential law case.

@hjk101 True. It's just sad that there are scum that either blatantly rip-off other content to make a quick buck, or use very shady means to 'ride the coattails' which prompted this rule being written down. This should've been obvious, as even unwritten the rule was implied. 'Create your own stuff'.
