xsid35076y@Charon92 it's like with minimum ram and storage raspberry pi can do much more. Why smartphone need 10 GB ram?
-
@xsid new apps eat RAM for breakfast. And they insist to keep there even when they are not being used and are closed.
But I see your point, 10GB is still too much nowadays. -
bahua129056yUm, what common tasks do a phone and a rpi have? What in the world does a OP6 have to do with a rpi?
-
@brunofontes Apart from controlling whether an app can run on the background through permissions , I think the Android system automatically puts apps on and off RAM according to usage.
-
xsid35076y@Charon92 Yeah, If it's there and people are paying for it, then why not. But yeah, OnePlus 6 is just awesome.
-
@Teabagging4Life Oh yes! Maybe it is Android. But I am not exactly a fan how it manages RAM.
Sometimes I want to keep alternating between two heavy apps and it closes them, but keep another non useful apps on RAM. -
bahua129056y@xsid
They're absolutely incomparable. The OP6 is a commercial smartphone with an onboard battery, a large touchscreen, a powerful cellular radio, and countless other hardware and software features and use cases that don't remotely come into consideration for a raspberry pi. It rightly costs hundreds of dollars. The raspberry pi is a miniature computer, meant to be used in a stationary manner. It's available without a chassis for well under $50-- but usually around $25 --and makes absolutely no sense to compare to any smartphone. -
Parzi88336y@Charon92 and yet android phones suck dick at compiling things, running web servers, etc.
