I work in advertising. Quality is more important than deadlines for us.
It's better to send time perfecting something rather than spend thousands on damages.

Depends. Is what you are developing part of your companies critical path? If there is an outage, who cares and how much does it cost? If it causes bad data, can you fix it? If not, why didn’t you develop it better?
You are in need of sla’s to know where quality belongs. And where it doesn’t.
Not that non-critical processes aren’t important. They just aren’t 999. And you may be waisting there time making them 999 robust.
But better code = better manageability and less dev support. That does speak for itself on large projects. -
