Peaceful protest #2:

Spotify desktop application is blocked due to "bandwidth issues", but web version works fine. Now I listen to music on YouTube, in 1080p, and I like to leave it on for the night...

    is tidal blocked too?
with tidal your defiance is even bigger it streams lossless flacs. And it's nearly as good as Spotify. I use both.

@heyheni Thx for introducing me to tidal. finally good quality for my playlist

I do not recommend Tidal as some FLACs are actually lossy recordings (look up Master Quality Authenticated).

@filthyranter yeah but his Spotify was taken you audio snob! 😄
    So give him an alternative.

@heyheni Download FLACs from a reputable source, host them on your own server. Nextcloud + Audio Player plugin as well. And done.

@filthyranter awesome, what storage provider do you recommend for uploading the spotify libary of 30 million plus songs in lossles flac? I'd like to import them into my nextcloud.
  • 2
@heyheni Depends. I personally use it on my seedbox, with quote a lot of storage. :P

@filthyranter okay can you loan me your spade? i'd like to build a sandcastle in your sandbox while uploading.
  • 3
@heyheni Nah, my sandcastle takes up a lot of space already :P

Why not throw a Tor node on the pile as well, guys?

Support FLOSS and throw in a BitTorrent seed of some popular Linux distros in while you're at it.

Guys I can use the web version of Spotify.
I just prefer to use the desktop client, mostly because of the keyboard shortcuts.

If there was a valid reason to block the desktop client, I'd happily use the web version. But they're claiming it's because of bandwidth. Since the web version spends more bandwidth than having the desktop version, I'll just use YouTube..
